Garden Salad with Almonds and Oranges

1 head Iceberg lettuce
1 head Romaine lettuce
1 cup Almonds, sliced or slivered
6 Green Onions Thinly sliced
1/4 cup Sugar
2- 11oz cans Mandarin oranges, chilled and drained
   
DRESSING:  
1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
1/4 cup White Vinegar
1/4 cup Sugar
1 Tsp Salt
Dash Black pepper
Dash Red pepper
1 Tbsp Parsley flakes
   
   

Blend all dressing ingredients. Shake well and refrigerate.

Wash and prepare lettuce. Tear into bite size pieces. Chill

Combine almonds and sugar in a small saucepan, stirring constantly, heat until sugar melts and it's browned. Spread over wax paper to cool.

When ready to serve, combine lettuce, green onions and oranges. Toss with desired dressing. Crunch up almost and layer over top of salad.
