Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce

Pudding:

2 Eggs
2 Tbsp Butter, melted
2 Tbsp Vanilla
2 1/2 Cups Milk
2 Cups Sugar
1 Loaf (16 oz) Sourdough bread, cut in 1 inch cubes
1/3 cups Chopped pecans
   
   
Preheat oven to 325º.

In a mixer, beat the eggs, vanilla and milk. Carefully add the melted butter so it does not cook the eggs. Gradually add the sugar and mix thoroughly until sugar is dissolved.

Place bread cubes in the bottom of a 9x12 inch baking dish. (Or two pie plates). Pour liquid over bread, making sure all pieces are fully saturated. Sprinkle pecans over bread and push them down into the bread.  Bake 50-60 minutes.

(You can freeze for future use at this point)

 

 

 

Sauce:

1/2 Cup Sugar
1 stick Butter
1/2 Cup Cream
1/2 Cup Jack Daniels
   
   
Combine the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Stir constantly over low heat until mixture reaches a low rolling boil.

Pour a small amount over the individual servings of pudding.
