Oven Swiss Steak
(my first meal to cook for Richard)

2 lbs Round steak, cut into serving size pieces
6 Tbsp Flour
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp Pepper
1/4 cup Vegetable oil
1 can Stewed tomatoes
1/2 cup Carrots, chopped
1/2 cup Celery, chopped
1/2 cup Onion, Chopped
1 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 cup Water
   

Preheat oven to 325º.

Blend flour salt and pepper. Dredged meat in flour mixture and pound mixture into meat. (you can use edge of a saucer or meat tenderizer).  Heat the oil in a skillet and and brown the meat. Remove the meat and place in a greased casserole dish.

Take any remaining flour and add to skillet and blend with drippings. In the same skillet add the tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion and sauce. Season with 1/2 Tsp salt and 1/2 Tsp Season Salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour vegetable mixture over steak in casserole. Cover and bake for 2 hours, until steak and vegetables are tender. Steak will cut with a fork.
